Catie Rutledge, (b. 1992, Alexandria, VA), is an interdisciplinary artist currently living and working in Berlin, Germany. Her sprawling, collage-like works combine personal confession with pop performative tropes, exploring themes of shame, loss, and obsession through performance, painting, video, and installation.

Rutledge is currently a Fulbright grantee to Germany, researching and creating collaborative works on the transformative potential of Berlin’s queer BDSM scene. She was a 2019 artist in residence at Joya in Vélez-Blanco, Spain, and has performed and exhibited her work nationally and internationally, including at Grace Exhibition Space (NYC), RUSCHMAN (Chicago), Projet Pangée (Montreal), and Kobo Chika (Tokyo). She holds a BFA with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2015), and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2018).
